The film scooped the Best Screenwriting Award that was dedicated to its writers Mehrdad Khoshbakht and Babak Kaydan at the festival’s closing ceremony held on September 14, 2013. The Sound of My Foot was presented at the International Competition section of the festival. Wolf Children by Mamoru Hosuda from Japan won the Award for Best Animated Feature while the Award for Best Children’s Feature went to Cool Kids Don’t Cry by Dennis Bots from Belgium.
